As our district has stated, we at Doolen also are hurt and burdened by the killing of George Floyd and so many others. We have been moved and shaped by the Black Lives Matter movement this summer, and we continue to find ways to bring the message into the classroom. Doolen is one of the most racially diverse middle schools in the district, and it is vital that we embrace this struggle, this movement, and this challenging conversation so that our students reap the benefits of working with diversity.
Humans like to feel in control and to have all the answers. So right now, when there are so many unknowns in our world, we can experience a lot of stress. Please know that your school staff are hear for you. While we may not have all the answers, we will still show up for you every day.
